1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using JustSplit, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these terms. You are responsible for your account, the accuracy of information you provide, and activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. What JustSplit provides

JustSplit helps groups record expenses, scan receipts, allocate items or shares, approve expenses, calculate balances, and record settlements. JustSplit is a record-keeping and calculation tool; it is not a bank, wallet, accountant, financial adviser, or payment-settlement service.

4. Your responsibilities

• Review scanned items, calculations, participants, amounts, currencies, taxes, and balances before relying on them.
• Resolve disagreements with group members and keep records needed for your own purposes.
• Use JustSplit lawfully and avoid impersonation, fraud, harassment, or attempts to interfere with the service.
• Do not upload malware, unlawful material, or information you do not have the right to use.

5. Receipts and other content

You retain ownership of content you upload. You give JustSplit and its service providers a limited permission to host, copy, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the features you request. You confirm that you have the right to upload the content and that it does not unnecessarily expose another person's sensitive information.

6. Automated extraction

Receipt extraction uses automated systems and may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted information. JustSplit does not guarantee that scans, calculations, currencies, taxes, or suggested expense details are accurate.

7. Credits and payments

Some features may require credits. Available plans, prices, currencies, taxes, validity, and refund conditions are shown when you purchase. Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider under its own terms. Except where required by law or stated at purchase, consumed credits are not refundable.

8. Service availability and changes

We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of JustSplit to maintain security, comply with law, manage technical constraints, or improve the service. We aim to provide reasonable notice when a change materially affects users, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using JustSplit at any time. We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe these terms have been violated, the service or another user is at risk, payment abuse has occurred, or action is required by law. Contact us to request account deletion.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, JustSplit is provided on an “as available” basis without warranties that every feature or calculation will be error-free. JustSplit is not responsible for agreements, debts, payments, disputes, or losses between group members. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable Indian law may hear unresolved disputes.

12. Contact and changes

Questions about these terms may be sent to support@getjustsplit.app. We may update these terms and will identify the effective date. If a material update requires renewed agreement, we will ask you to accept the new version before continuing.
